The Standing Committee on Internal Economy, Budgets and Administration met at 8:30 a.m. this day, the Chairman, the Honourable Senator Kenny presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Carstairs, Cochrane, Cohen, DeBané, Di Nino, Kenny, Milne, Nolin, Poulin, Rompkey and Stollery. (11)

In attendance: Mr. Paul Bélisle, Clerk of the Senate and other Senate officials.

The committee proceeded in camera.

At 10:25 a.m., the committee proceeded in public.

BUDGET OF THE PRIVILEGES, STANDING RULES AND ORDER COMMITTEE

Senator Rompkey, on behalf of Senator Gauthier and Robertson, presented the budget of the Standing Committee on Privileges, Standing Rules and Orders for the amount of $3,000.

It was agreed that the budget be adopted.

RESTRUCTURING OF SENATE COMMITTEES

The Chair informed the committee that a joint meeting of the Internal Economy Committee and the Rules Committee was bing planned to review the document "Restructuring of Senate Committees" and that the notice and relevant documents would be circulated by the Clerk of the committee.

It was agreed that the Ad Hoc sub-committee on Information Technology be reconstituted and that it be composed of Senators De Bané (Chair), Comeau, Carstairs, Milne and Nolin.

At 10:30 a.m. the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
