The Standing Senate Committee on Aboriginal Peoples, met at 5:37 p.m., this day, in Room 160-S Centre Block, the Honourable Senator Charlie Watt presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Adams, Andreychuk, Johnson, Mahovlich, St. Germain, P.C., Watt (6).

In attendance: Rosemarie Kuptana, Coordinator of the Special Study.

Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.

Pursuant to the Order of Reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, December 9, 1997, the committee continued its examination of aboriginal self-government.

WITNESS:

From National Aboriginal Housing Association:

Mel Buffalo, President.

Mr. Buffalo presented a video and made an opening statement and answered questions from members of the committee.

At 7:00 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
