The Standing Senate Committee on Aboriginal Peoples met this day at 6:50 p.m., in room 160-S, Centre Block, the chair, the Honourable Dennis Glen Patterson, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Beyak, Dyck, Enverga, Moore, Ngo, Patterson, Raine, Sibbeston, Tannas and Wallace (10).

In attendance: Shauna Troniak, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament.

Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, February 25, 2014, the committee continued its consideration of the challenges and potential solutions relating to First Nations infrastructure on reserves. (For complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 4.)

WITNESS:

Swan Lake First Nation:

Desmond Gould, Director of Operations.

Mr. Gould made a statement and answered questions.

At 8:33 p.m., the committee suspended.

At 8:36 p.m., the committee resumed in camera.

Pursuant to rule 12-16(1)(d), the committee proceeded to consider a draft agenda (future business).

It was agreed that senators' staff be permitted to remain in the room during the in camera meeting.

It was agreed that notwithstanding the decision of Wednesday, October 29, 2014, the committee withdraw its supplementary budget application for the 2014-15 fiscal year.

At 8:43 p.m., it was agreed that the committee adjourn to the call of the chair.
