The Standing Senate Committee on National Finance met this day at 1:44 p.m. to consider the subject matter of all of Bill C-74, An Act to implement certain provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on February 27, 2018 and other measures.

The Chair: Honourable senators and witnesses, I want to begin by informing you of the passing of a Canadian parliamentarian, MP Gordon Brown, who represents the Ontario riding of Leeds--Grenville--Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes. Coming from the Finance Committee family, senators and the witnesses who are here today, all our prayers are with Mr. Brown’s family.

At this moment, honourable senators and witnesses, I will ask you to stand for a moment of silence.

Honourable senators then stood in silent tribute.

The Chair: Honourable senators and witnesses from the Department of Finance, I move to adjourn the meeting. Through our clerk, she will look to reschedule the meeting another day, hopefully tomorrow afternoon at the same hour, commencing at 1:30 and ending at 3:30.
