Pursuant to the order of the Senate of March 30, 2021, the Standing Senate Committee on National Finance met this day by videoconference at 9:38 a.m. [ET], the chair, the Honourable Percy Mockler, presiding. This meeting is considered to have taken place in the parliamentary precinct.

Members of the committee present by videoconference: The Honourable Senators Dagenais, Deacon (Ontario), Duncan, Forest, Klyne, Loffreda, Marshall, Mockler, Moncion, Pate, Richards and Smith (12).

Other senator present by videoconference: The Honourable Senator Omidvar (1).

Participating in the meeting: Ericka Dupont, Procedural Clerk, Committees Directorate; Sylvain Fleury and Shaowei Pu, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, May 27, 2021, the committee continued its examination of the expenditures set out in the Supplementary Estimates (A) for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2022.

At 11:10 a.m., the committee suspended.

At 11:14 a.m., the committee resumed.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, May 25, 2021, the committee continued its examination of Bill S-222, An Act to amend the Income Tax Act (use of resources).

It was agreed that the committee proceed to clause-by-clause consideration of Bill S-222.

It was agreed that the title stand postponed.

It was agreed that the preamble stand postponed.

It was agreed that clause 1, which contains the short title, stand postponed.
