The Standing Senate Committee on Social Affairs, Science and Technology met this day at 4:15 p.m., in room 2, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Kelvin Kenneth Ogilvie, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Eggleton, P.C., Merchant, Munson, Nancy Ruth, Ogilvie, Patterson, Raine and Seidman (8).

In attendance: Sonya Norris, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament.

Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, February 23, 2016, the committee continued its study on the issue of dementia in our society. (For complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 2.)

WITNESSES:

Alzheimer Society of Canada:

Mimi Lowi-Young, Chief Executive Officer.

Canadian Coalition for Seniors' Mental Health:

Bonnie Schroeder, Executive Director.

Women's Brain Health Initiative:

Lynn Posluns, Founder and President.

Ms. Lowi-Young, Ms. Schroeder and Ms. Posluns each made a statement and answered questions.

At 6:03 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
