Monday, August 19 to Saturday, August 24, 2019 — Senator Brian Francis participates in the Royal Canadian Navy’s Canadian Leaders at Sea program, in the Arctic. The program gives civilians who are leaders in their communities the opportunity to spend a few nights on board a Canadian warship and learn about the work of the navy.

Thursday, August 29, 2019 — Senator Rob Black joins community members to officially open the Wellington Place Child Care and Learning Centre in Fergus, Ontario.

Monday, September 2, 2019 — Senator Pat Duncan attends the opening of the Special Olympics Northwestel Development Games in Teslin, Yukon. Senator Duncan is pictured with athlete Mallory Pigage.

Wednesday, September 4, 2019 — Senator Marilou McPhedran joins the Global Network of Women Peacebuilders (GNWP) and partners for a roundtable with GNWP’s Young Women for Peace and Leadership (#YWPL) in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Sunday, September 8, 2019 —  Senator Marilou McPhedran meets with the Honourable Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsadof (Parliament of Bangladesh), in Dhaka, its capital. 

Monday, September 9, 2019 — Senator Marty Deacon joins other senators and members of Parliament to fill backpacks with school supplies for children from families in need across Canada as part of Telus’s annual Kits for Kids.

Wednesday, September 18, 2019 – Senator Percy Downe accompanies the Ambassador of the Slovak Republic to Canada, His Excellency Vit Koziak, on a tour of Prince Edward Aqua Farms with General Manager Jerry Bigwood during the ambassador’s official visit to Prince Edward Island. The aqua farm has been harvesting and processing shellfish since 1989.

Friday, September 20, 2019 – As part of a family law training conference organized in Montreal by the Quebec Bar, Senator Pierre J. Dalphond speaks to lawyers about important changes to the Divorce Act, which he sponsored in the Senate.

Friday, October 4, 2019 – Senator Lillian Eva Dyck participates in Iskwewuk E-wichiwitochik's (Women Walking Together) annual walk and vigil at the Saskatoon Indian and Métis Friendship Centre to honour the memory of missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls, and two-spirited persons.
