Friday, March 19, 2021 – Senator Marilou McPhedran shares her insights and expertise with this year’s Young Diplomats of Canada delegates to the 65th session on the Commission of the Status of Women. A podcast featuring compelling excerpts from their discussion will soon be available.

Friday, March 19, 2021 – Senators Salma Ataullahjan, Marc Gold and Paula Simons participate in a panel discussion with Canadian post-secondary students on how senators give underrepresented groups a strong voice in Parliament, on the work of Senate committees and on the importance of civic engagement among youth.

Friday, March 19, 2021 – Senators Pierre-Hugues Boisvenu, Lucie Moncion and Éric Forest speak with post-secondary students from Ontario and Quebec during a panel discussion. They spoke about the way senators give underrepresented groups a strong voice in Parliament, the work of Senate committees and the importance of civic engagement among youth.

Monday, March 22, 2021 – Senator Peter Boehm meets with Grade 10 civics students from Essex District High School in Essex, Ontario, to discuss the Senate’s role in Parliament, the work of senators and his path to the Upper Chamber.

Tuesday, March 23, 2021 – Senator Percy Downe speaks with students enrolled in the Introduction to Canadian Politics class at the University of Prince Edward Island about the role of the Senate and medical assistance in dying legislation.

Wednesday, March 24, 2021 – Senator Robert Black safely visits Portage Ontario, a youth drug addiction rehabilitation centre in Elora, Ontario, to learn more about how the facility serves the community and how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected the centre and its clients.

Wednesday, March 24, 2021 – Senator Robert Black meets with Grade 8 students from The Valleys Senior Public School in Mississauga, Ontario, to discuss the evolution of the Senate’s role over the last 150 years ago, the duties that senators perform and his path to the Red Chamber.

Thursday, March 25, 2021 – Senator Kim Pate meets virtually with University of Prince Edward Island students who are studying the court system to discuss the Senate’s role in Parliament, her experience in law school and her current and past work.

Thursday, March 25, 2021 – Senator Ratna Omidvar gives the keynote speech at a virtual volunteer conference hosted by 4-H Ontario, a youth development organization, sharing ideas about implementing diversity and inclusion practices.
