Friday, October 22, 2021 – As part of the S’ENgage program, Senator Chantal Petitclerc meets with students at De Mortagne High School in Boucherville, Quebec, who are members of the school’s student council and sustainable development committee. She answered their questions about her journey as a former Paralympic athlete, her work in the Senate and the importance of persistence.

Wednesday, October 20, 2021 – Senators René Cormier, Tony Loffreda and Yonah Martin participate as guest speakers in a panel organized by Professor Tina Park from the University of Toronto, as part of her course on Canadian nationalism. The senators spoke with the students about diversity, multiculturalism and immigration.

Friday, October 22, 2021 – Senator Ratna Omidvar participates as keynote speaker at a virtual citizenship ceremony for new Canadians hosted by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada and the Institute for Canadian Citizenship.

Sunday, October 24, 2021 – Senator Mohamed-Iqbal Ravalia speaks at the Conglomeration of Millennial Businesses event at the St. John’s Farmers’ Market. The event, hosted by the Black Student Association at Memorial University, was the first of its kind in the province.

Tuesday, October 26, 2021 – Senator Wanda Elaine Thomas Bernard participates in a mentorship session with youth from the Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa. She offered insights and advice to young people on self-confidence, leadership and professional development.

Monday, October 4, 2021 – As part of the S’ENgage program, Senator Peter M. Boehm meets with Amanda Fabischeck’s social studies students at Riverside Secondary School in Windsor, Ontario, to share his insider’s view of how the Senate works.

Thursday, October 28, 2021 – Senator Rosemary Moodie visits staff and leadership at the Neighbourhood Group’s new centre, where they discussed the crucial role of early childhood educators and the steps needed to strengthen the sector. The Neighborhood Group (formerly St. Stephen’s Community House) is a non-profit organization based in Toronto, Ontario, that offers a number of community services, including childcare.

Thursday, October 28, 2021 – Senator Michèle Audette participates in the first symposium on the feminization of leadership where she spoke to hundreds of members at l’Espace Gare Viger in Montréal, Quebec, and to 300 virtual participants. The meeting was an opportunity to share scientific studies through panels and dialogue workshops in order to deepen the vision of the feminization of leadership, and contribute to reflection, awareness, education and implementation.

Wednesday, October 27, 2021 – Senator Robert Black meets virtually with a group of Grade 5 students in the UGDSB Elementary Remote Program in Guelph, Ontario. He explained his role as senator and highlighted how he supports Canadians and rural communities in the Red Chamber.

Thursday, October 28, 2021 – Senator Rosemary Moodie visits the TAIBU Community Health Centre in Toronto, Ontario, and meets with the centre’s senior leaders, medical providers and community members. The TAIBU Centre has helped thousands of Torontonians live healthy lives and provided essential services throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, including the vaccination of more than 23,000 people.

Saturday, October 30, 2021 – Senator Brian Francis travels to Lennox Island First Nation with the Honourable Louise Arbour, Senator Kim Pate and a few others to share some of his culture and take part in a porcupine quill art session.

Tuesday, November 2, 2021 – Senator Robert Black meets virtually with Farm Credit Canada’s Corinna Mitchell-Beaudin to discuss priorities for the Canadian agricultural sector, in particular regarding financial support.
