During this session organized by S’ENgage, the senator spoke about her journey to the Senate and answered questions about her work in the Upper Chamber.


Friday, October 14, 2022 — Senator Marilou McPhedran poses with students at the Youth Nuclear Peace Day of Action at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Senator McPhedran delivered the keynote speech and students gave presentations on organizations working towards nuclear disarmament, brainstormed new initiatives, and learned about the role of civil society in realizing a nuclear weapons-free world.

Wells, right, learns firsthand about the critical work of the International Red Cross from humanitarian aid worker Maciej Budka. The senator visited the Polish city of Lublin, located near the country’s border with Ukraine, where he toured a school where Ukrainian students are studying until they can return home.
