Tuesday, April 11, 2023 – Senator Pierre-Hugues Boisvenu, back row, third from right, meets with family and friends of the late Mchale Busch and Noah McConnell in Camrose, Alberta. The 24-year-old mother and her 16-month-old son were murdered in September 2021. Senator Boisvenu listened to their story and ideas on how to ensure this tragedy never happens again.

Friday, April 21, 2023 – Senator Bernadette Clement, second from right, holds a conversation about Indigenous languages in her office on Parliament Hill with guests from Akwesasne, Quebec. They celebrated the work of teachers, translators, curriculum developers and leaders in this field. They also discussed the challenges they face and ways to protect Indigenous languages.

Wednesday, April 26, 2023 – Senator Michèle Audette, fourth from right, is gifted the fourth million pin from the Moose Hide Campaign during a ceremony in the Senate of Canada Building in Ottawa, Ontario, for her unwavering commitment to ending violence, especially against Indigenous women and girls. She was joined by her fellow senators in support of this recognition. From third left to second right: Senators Marc Gold, Kim Pate, Mohamed-Iqbal Ravalia, Rosa Galvez, Éric Forest, Michèle Audette, Yvonne Boyer and Margo Greenwood.

Sunday, April 30, 2023 – Senator Salma Ataullahjan, left, attends the Ottawa Muslim Women’s Organization’s 19th Festival of Friendship Annual Dinner, as a guest speaker. Her remarks focused on the Senate committee on Human Rights’ study on Islamophobia.

Monday, May 1, 2023 – Senator Yuen Pau Woo, fourth from right, co-hosts a conversation with the Hon. Jack Austin, former senator, in the Senate of Canada Building in Ottawa, Ontario. During the meeting organized by SENgage, he discussed the role of the Senate in Parliament, spoke about the longstanding relationship between Canada and the U.S., and highlighted his involvement in the Canada-United States Inter-Parliamentary Group. Senator Downe also answered questions from the fellows.

Thursday, May 4, 2023 – Senator Ratna Omidvar, second row, centre, welcomes students from the University of Toronto’s Dr. Eric Jackman Institute of Child Study Laboratory School to the Senate of Canada Building in Ottawa, Ontario. As her guests, the students learned how the Senate works and were recognized in the Senate Chamber during the sitting by then-Speaker of the Senate of Canada George J. Furey.
